NEWS FROM LYNX

LYNX AMBUSH FEDERATION SQUARE IN FIRST
AUSTRALIAN AUGMENTED REALITY STUNT

To celebrate the launch of the new deodorant, Excite, Lynx will be launching the first experiential augmented reality stunt in Australia on Friday 27th May.
Taking place in Federation Square, Melbourne, the experiential activity will feature the Lynx Excite Angels who have risen to fame in the recent Lynx ‘Fallen Angels’ TV advertising campaign.
The activity which uses a mixture of live compositing and specialist software, will see people directly interacting with the angels on a digital video screen at Federation Square. As passers-by walk onto the Lynx markers on the floor, angels will literally fall to earth on the screen and interact with whoever is on the marker at the time.
The activity was rolled out successfully in the UK earlier in the year but this is the first time such technology is being used in this way in Australia.
Lynx Senior Brand Manager Duncan Robertson, said “We were so impressed with the impact of the Fallen Angels ambush stunt in the UK that it was a no brainer for us to bring the technology over to Australia and replicate the success. Lynx has a tradition of innovation – whether it’s developing the latest deodorant, or using cutting edge technology to interact with Australian guys - so the project felt like a natural undertaking for us. The Fallen Angels ad campaign has proven to be exceptionally popular so we’re hopeful people will show their support at Federation Square and get up close and personal with the angels in this Aussie first!”

The activity is open to the public and will run on Friday 27th May from 11am until 3pm.

Notes to editors:
The Excite gourmand-oriental FRAGRANCE builds on the heritage of our 2 historic best sellers;  Africa & Dark Temptation, but with a more MODERN and SOPHISTICATED interpretation as inspired by Armani Code. The edgy signature at the top of this fragrance comes from a vibrant mix of leafy green and watery pear, contrasted with touches of black pepper that gives it a freshness that is instantly recognisable. The heart reveals a seductive blend of gourmand notes of coconut, marshmallow, hazelnut & caramel. The background is inspired by the oriental side of Armani Code with sensual woods, amber and vanilla.

NEWS FROM OOVIE

STUDENT FILMS HAVE A GLITTERING PREMIERE AT DUNGOG FILM FESTIVAL
Dungog Film Festival’s Oovie Student Film Project

In a scene normally reserved for the Hollywood A-list, students from three schools across NSW were treated to their very own film premiere today, marking the culmination of a nine month intensive program - the Dungog Film Festival’s Oovie Student Film Project.

In its first year, DFF’s Oovie Student Film Project saw students from Sydney’s Ascham School, Newcastle’s Callaghan College and Port Stephens’ St Phillips Christian College work alongside some of the country’s greatest filmmaking talent (feature screenwriters, directors, producers, composers and editors) to make their very own five minute short film. The students were chosen from thousands of contenders across NSW.

The films premiered at a special gala event at Dungog’s James Theatre, with actor Andy Ryan (Tomorrow When the War Began) hosting the event. The three films were followed by a special screening of Bob Connolly and Sophie Raymond’s much lauded Mrs Carey’s Concert. In addition to their big screen premiere, each student’s film will now be distributed through the Oovie DVD network.

Commenting on the premiere, Mark Haley from Newcastle’s Callaghan College said: “DFF’s Oovie Student Film Project has given our students a firsthand look into the Australian film industry, encouraging them to extend their knowledge and skills of filmmaking. Seeing the films premiere on the big screen at the Dungog Film Festival and distributed through the Oovie DVD network is an absolute thrill!”

DFF Festival Director, Allanah Zitserman, shares: ”It has been inspiring to see all the students, teachers, entire schools and even towns in some cases, embrace DFF’s Oovie Student Film Project. The mentors were outstanding and we’re all extremely proud to present these talented students’ films today. This program represents the very essence of DFF’s mission of increasing an appreciation and connection to Australian screen culture.

Oovie Marketing Director, Karli Smith, said: “We’re delighted DFF’s Oovie Student Film Project has been so well received by teachers and students across the country. The sheer passion and creativity of these aspiring young filmmakers has led to the production of three truly remarkable films that we look forward to distributing through the Oovie DVD network.”

In its first year, DFF’s Oovie Student Film Project has already received wide ranging support from teachers, students and the Film Industry. The Project has been made possible through the generous support of Oovie and other supporters such as Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and  Roadshow Entertainment as well as the Australian Writers Guild (AWG), Australian Directors Guild and the Australian Performing Rights Association.
